Lancashire cup first round and with neither team knowing much about each other it was always going to be unsure who was favourites.
Both sides looked nervous and it was Radcliffe Juniors who took the lead in only the 2nd minute when some sloppy defending allowed their player to slot past our goal keeper. FC hadn't really started but after a great pass from Kieran Gardner Scott Green ran through to cooly chip the keeper to make the game 1-1. Almost straight from the kick off and some more sloppy defending allowed Radcliffe striker to again race through for his and their 2nd goal. Within minutes again it was almost a carbon copy when Oliver Holt sent the ball over the top for Scott Green to run through and smash home to make it 2-2. FC Rangers started to take control of the game more and were now starting to relax and play their football and it wasn't long before Scott Green completed his Hatrick when a through ball from Liam Colmer was slotted home first time. FC Rangers were now playing football in Radcliffes half and when Scott Green sent Harry McDonough through twice within minutes his double made it 5-2. FC Weren't finished there when some great individual work saw Liam Colmer race through himself to cooly slot past the keeper and make it 6-2 at Half Time. FC Rangers weren't finished and came racing out of the blocks camping out in Radcliffes half a
nd when Harry McDonough rounded the keeper looking to complete his hatrick the goal keeper stopped him by bringing him down and FC were awarded a penalty. Upstepped FC Rangers penalty taker Goal Keeper Adam Scott-rattray and his low shot put FC 7-2 up. FC Rangers made changes and it was Liam Towers who replaced Harry McDonough and Alex Varley who replaced Levi Eaves. Within seconds of Liam Towers arrival Scott Green sent Liam Towers through and with his first touch found himself on the scoresheet 8-2. FC Rangers were in devastating form and within minutes it was Alex Varley playing his part in setting up Liam Towers to score his 2nd 9-2. FC Rangers weren't finished and after some excellent work down the right it was Kieran Gardners turn to cut in on goal after a Lewis Camm pass and slot past the oncoming keeper to make it double figures 10-2. FC Rangers made a triple substituion when Cole Clark Replaced Liam Colmer, Adam Cardwell replaced Joshua Roberts and Patrick Lonsdale replaced Ryan Wallace. FC were playing some nice football and were keeping the ball well from front to the back and it was no suprise when FC scored again this time it was Captain Lewis Camm who smashed the ball home to make it 11-2. The final whistle went and it was a well earned victory in which could have been a lot worse if we had taken all our chances. Man of the match was rewarded to Scott Green who was in fine form scoring 3 & making 4.
Thank you to Radcliffe Juniors who had a really nice team of players & supporters and despite the score they kept going right to the final whistle.
